2014-15 budget passes, but disappoints agriculture

Squeaking under the mandated June 15 deadline for approving a state budget, the California Legislature passed a $156 billion overall spending plan, with $108 billion designated for general fund expenditures. The approved budget, which now goes to Gov. Brown for signature, is an increase of $7.3 billion in operating revenue compared to the previous fiscal year.
