Latest ‘card check’ legislation awaits governor’s action

For a fifth consecutive year, the state Legislature has passed a law that would strip farm employees of their right to a secret ballot in union elections. Farmers and farm organizations are urging Gov. Jerry Brown to do as his predecessor did, and veto the latest version of the "card check" bill.
