Trainees sow dreams for futures in organic farming

On a warm, dusty morning, Martin Avina walked rows of his 1-acre organic test farm in the Salinas Valley, planting zucchini seeds he had soaked overnight. A few plots away, Enrique Garcia checked for scattered blight on the half-acre of celery he planted in March.
