‘Great grocery grab’ affects demand for animal protein
After the pandemic caused a historic shift to eating at home, diverting food meant for restaurants to grocery stores, U.S. animal protein supplies have returned to normal and food-service sales have improved since the onset of the pandemic, according to a new report from the CoBank Knowledge Exchange, which warns sales may not return to pre-pandemic levels until the second half of 2022.
