U.S. eradicates pink bollworm

After more than 100 years, U.S. cotton is free of the pink bollworm, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported as it declared eradication of a pest that has cost U.S. growers tens of millions of dollars in yearly control costs and yield losses.
