Farm shows how cover crops can complement livestock

During the past 20-plus years, California growers have been experimenting with cover cropping and using conservation tillage to improve soil conditions and maximize water efficiencies. Cover crops have often been used for permanent crops such as vineyards and nut orchards, but row crop farmers increasingly add cover crops into their rotations. And California growers, who are well known for their innovations, have been using cover crops in more creative ways.
