Salinas Valley farmers embrace new technology

The Salinas Valley is entering an age of new technology, as irrigators watch their smartphones to see if the mainframe triggered a set after receiving a signal from remote sensors, and weed thinners work in tractors equipped with computers that analyze photos in real time to decide which seedlings to eliminate with a squirt of herbicide.
