New water year starts with much higher CVP storage

The Central Valley Project, the largest single source of irrigation water in the state, began the new water year with 8.9 million acre-feet of water in six key CVP reservoirs—nearly twice the amount held in storage at the same time a year earlier—according to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
