Agricultural appropriations bill moves forward

Despite rumblings of another potential federal government shutdown over negotiations related to spending, the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations approved a spending bill for fiscal year 2016 last week that includes $20.65 billion in discretionary funds for agricultural programs.
