Dried plum outlook remains steady
Forecasters see a slight uptick in dried plum production this year—estimating the 2012 crop at 120,000 tons, compared to 119,000 last year. Statistics from the U.S. Department of Agriculture put total 2012 bearing acres at about 55,000.
