Wild rice is focus of USDA grant

Among marketing grants announced last week by the U.S. Department of Agriculture is $35,000 to help develop a nationwide reporting system for wild rice. The grant will be matched by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, in cooperation with the California Wild Rice Advisory Board and the Minnesota Cultivated Wild Rice Council.
