California earns $14 million in USDA grants to fight pests

Noting that California is "the first line of defense for the nation's food supply," Karen Ross, secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, said she welcomed last week's federal government announcement of more than $14 million for California to help fight against invasive pests and diseases.
