Pilot project to test methane reductions in rice production

Saying its effort intends to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to develop carbon credit markets, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced grants last week totaling $7.4 million to fund nine large-scale projects in 24 states, including a project with California rice farmers.
