Four new viruses infect honeybees, UC scientists say

A 10-month study of healthy honeybees by University of California, San Francisco, scientists has identified four new viruses that infect bees, the university said last week. It also revealed that each of the viruses or bacteria previously linked to colony collapse disorder is present in healthy hives as well. CCD is a disease that has resulted in the mysterious disappearance of one-third of America's honeybees.
