USDA conservation programs now cover 5 million-plus acres
By enrolling 110,000 acres of land in new conservation easements since last October, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said it had reached a milestone, partnering with private landowners to protect more than 5 million acres of wetlands, grasslands and prime farmland.
