Through the decades with CFBF—2000s
For the California Farm Bureau Federation centennial, we're highlighting a different decade of history each month.
In 2002, a lawsuit filed by CFBF led to a landmark decision, described in the 2006 story shown in the illustration, restricting state agencies from converting farmland to wildlife habitat.
In 2004, the California Young Farmers & Ranchers program started participating in the Harvest for All initiative, donating millions of pounds of food to food banks.
Also during the decade, CFBF joined in a partnership to present the Leopold Conservation Award for California (2006) and launched social media sites (2009).
Next month: the 2010s.
