Farm groups react cautiously as FDA releases produce rule

Agricultural organizations say they're closely reviewing a final rule released under the federal Food Safety Modernization Act that establishes standards for growing, harvesting, packing and holding produce for human consumption. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration released the document—known as the produce safety rule—earlier this month.
