Unregistered stock ponds face sanctions from state

Stock ponds that serve as a source of surface water storage for livestock are an important part of the ranching landscape. But ranchers may not always be aware that many stock ponds fall under the jurisdiction of the State Water Resources Control Board and must be registered to remain in compliance with the state Water Code.
