To stay in the dairy business, farmers diversify

When Tulare County dairy farmer Tom Barcellos started excavating dairy ponds in the early 1990s, it was one of those business opportunities that he said grew out of necessary: California dairies were getting larger and adopting new designs, and more ponds needed to be cleaned.
