Drought, lack of chilling reduce state’s almond crop

Reduced by a fourth consecutive year of drought, California's 2015 almond production has been forecast at 1.8 billion meat pounds, down 4 percent from last year and down 3 percent from a subjective forecast issued in May, according to a report released last week by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
