Mandatory sick leave provisions kick in on July 1


Issue Date: June 24, 2015

Starting on July 1, California employees who have worked for 30 days within a year of starting employment will be entitled to accrue or be credited with paid sick leave. This would be retroactive to their first day of employment. Then on and after their 90th day of employment, they will be entitled to use at least 24 hours or three days of their accrued or credited leave each year.
