Revised heat-safety standard takes effect on May 1

As farmers prepare employees for hotter temperatures and get ready for changes to the state Heat Illness Prevention Standard that take effect on May 1, the agencies that oversee employee workplace safety said last week they intend to emphasize education, outreach and enforcement.
