Bee forage plan announced; honey production increases

The health of honeybees is recognized as an important factor in the ability to pollinate a number of California crops, including almonds, and also to produce a quality honey crop. As the drought continues with very few forage opportunities for honeybees, groups such as the California Farm Bureau Federation, Bayer CropScience, Project Apis m. and others have encouraged planting of additional forage to help support honeybees.
