California mushroom crop declines

Mushroom growers in California saw sales volume decline in the 2013-14 marketing year, according to a report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. California agaricus mushroom volume of sales totaled 102 million pounds, down 14 percent from the 2012-13 season. Total growing area was also down about 500 square feet, USDA said.
