Trespass marijuana growers to face tougher penalties

Responding to concerns expressed by the California Farm Bureau Federation and other organizations about environmental damage and additional harm caused by trespass marijuana-growing operations, the U.S. Sentencing Commission has increased potential penalties for federal drug trafficking offenders who cultivate marijuana on public land or trespass on private or tribal land.
