Grants to benefit specialty crops

Projects to benefit California-grown specialty crops will receive a total of $19.76 million in funding for the 2014 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. The California Department of Food and Agriculture announced last week that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded approximately $66 million nationwide in the grant program, with about 30 percent of the money to benefit programs in California.
