Lindcove packing line sorts fruit in a new way

Most citrus packers have multi-tiered systems for sorting, grading and sizing fruit. When it comes to sizing up the internal quality of the fruit, packers mostly hope for the best, since it's almost impossible to test each piece of fruit for sweetness and taste. But a new internal quality sorter, which measures the brix level of fruit, and a new UV vision center, which detects almost invisible defects, may change the whole face of the citrus packing industry and give citrus packers a boost when it comes to producing consistently good-tasting and aesthetically pleasing fruit for their customers.
