Bonsai nursery helps shape agriculture into an art form

Ornamental nursery growers say bonsai—the Japanese art of shaping miniature trees and shrubs into living sculptures—is enjoying a resurgence of interest, not only in California, but worldwide. The horticultural practice is a small niche within the ornamental nursery sector, but experts say sales remain steady because of devoted hobbyists and changing economic and environmental conditions.
