Increased production is projected for U.S. vegetable crops

Consumer demand for fresh market vegetables is expected to fuel both farm production and profits during the next decade. Analysts with the U.S. Department of Agriculture forecast fresh vegetable production will grow on average 1.2 percent per year during the next decade, with value increasing from $20 billion in 2012 to $22 billion in 2022.
