Soil quick test gives farmers information on fertilizer use

Central Coast vegetable growers have renewed interest in nitrogen management tools, as regulators increase the pressure to reduce nitrate leaching into underground water. The soil quick test, which can reveal in minutes whether a sidedress nitrogen application can be safely skipped, can also be used to decide if a reduced application would be enough.
