Legislature to consider heat illness, ag overtime bills

Heat-stress legislation that farm groups consider impractical and unnecessary will go to the state Senate Appropriations Committee when the Legislature returns from recess next month. Agricultural organizations have urged members to meet with legislators in their district offices during the current legislative recess to encourage "no" votes on the bills: Assembly Bill 2346 by Betsy Butler, D-Los Angeles, and AB 2676 by Charles Calderon, D-Whittier.
