USDA project aims to help both birds and rice farmers

Seventy rice farmers in Glenn and Colusa counties have signed contracts to participate in a pilot project with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service to modify their rice fields and production practices to benefit shorebirds and waterfowl.
