Groups urge aggressive fight against poultry disease

Calling virulent Newcastle disease an animal-disease emergency that requires a "determined and swift response," the American Farm Bureau Federation and seven other groups have urged the U.S. Department of Agriculture to secure funding to carry out an aggressive eradication strategy in California and Utah, and to prevent the disease's spread to other states.
