California almond acreage tops 1.3 million acres in 2017

California's almond acreage continues to grow from year to year, with 2017 showing a 7 percent increase in acreage from the previous year. Bearing acreage reached 1 million for the first time in 2017, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported last week.
