Organic farmers seek more from federal farm bill

According to speakers at a workshop held in Monterey, the growing organic sector is looking for a seat at the table when it comes to dividing U.S. Department of Agriculture research money, offering inspection services to ensure the authenticity of the product, and devising insurance programs that work for smaller growers with numerous crops.
