Alfalfa hopper may bring red blotch to vineyards

Five years after red blotch disease was positively identified, and nine years after some winegrape growers began to suspect that a new virus was plaguing their vines, control of the three-cornered alfalfa hopper has emerged as the key to managing the disease.
